Parsi Pateti 2001

The fire is deftly made by Homyar Dastur
In criscrossing designs like history
And I, on a jetlag from Istanbul
Feel the pull of the Magus:
Gratitude to the past
Creativity in the present
Responsibility towards the future
The past was burnt in books and books by Alexander
But Hafiz's femininity burns bright like a magian fire in his pages
As Homyar twirls in his women's skirts to prepare more fires
                                                    to burn more sacrifices

Today I have read the Avesta end to end to escape boredom, and the crowds

Today I have come home to a history.
